Motorious articles are each rated from 1 to 5. This page shows the criteria for the five different ratings.
Rating 1 of 5:
This article is just getting started! It is currently rated 1 out of 5, which means:
- it may contain limited or incorrect information about the system or procedure
- it may lack a system overview
- it may be poorly constructed or not conform to the Motorious style guide (e.g. missing/incorrect photos, diagrams, layout, formatting, or templates)
- it may contain spelling and/or grammar errors
- it may not be written to avoid the use of first person

Rating 2 of 5:
This article needs improvement! It is currently rated 2 out of 5, which means:
- it contains the basic information needed to perform the procedure
- it contains or references a useful system overview
- it may be poorly constructed or not conform to the Motorious style guide (e.g. missing/incorrect photos, diagrams, layout, formatting, or templates)
- it may contain spelling and/or grammar errors
- it may not be written to avoid the use of first person

Rating 3 of 5:
This article is as good as a repair manual, but it can still be improved! It is currently rated 3 out of 5, which means:
- it contains information which is thorough and accurate
- it complies with the Motorious style guide (spelling, grammar, structure, etc.)
- it contains or references a well-illustrated, comprehensive system overview
- it would benefit from more detailed information, alternate methods, or explanatory photos/diagrams/illustrations

Rating 4 of 5:
This article is better than a shop manual...make it Motorious! It is currently rated 4 out of 5, which means it is very high quality and provides comprehensive, correct information with better photos and more complete information than a shop manual. Relevant illustrations and/or diagrams have been verified and are either included here or directly linked from here.
